Stunning Mid-Century Hollywood Regency Ceiling Light Fixture

Here's a really nice 1950's - 1960's Hollywood Regency Ceiling Light Fixture. These individual light pendants hang at different levels. The inside of each is lined with rolled, patterned glass in micro-square design (see photo below) throwing out a nice a diffused light, much like a frosted light bulb would. The frame on each is a brass toned metal.

Buyers of vintage lighting should always be certain that when any description states something like 'Brass & Glass' that the fixture is actually made of 'Brass'. It may actually be 'Brass Toned' and the seller accidently described the metal type used in the fixture incorrectly. Just ask the seller to do a simple magnet test on the frame. 'Brass' is non-magnetic!

They are heavy and have gold gilt/enamel design overlay on the glass. If there has ever been a more typical Hollywood Regency lighting fixture I haven't seen it yet & I have seen a lot! I'm just uploading a couple of photos here until I have a chance to piece together a slideshow with all of the photos' I took (about 20-25).

The inside lamp fixture in each pendant is heavy porcelain. The inside of the ceiling mount also has a Union label (American) so it is American made and also an older style UL tag. Each lamp  is 13" high to the top of the high Sq. Rods. There are 6-Outside rods on each lamp and the Cylindrical Lamps are 4" diameter

We can't find any marks on the fixture telling us who made this. Likely a paper label that had been on the fixture is now long gone. If anyone recognizes this fixture, drop us a note.

We may consider parting with this fixture in the near future, but for now we're enjoying cleaning up the fixture. The fixtures ceiling wire has been cut...as most vintage fixtures suffer from, but wiring is easily replaced.

Antique Carl Zeiss Jena Nr.40303 1c PhotoMicrography - Projection Microscope ca.1902-1904

Microscope is For Sale
on
Los Angeles Craigslist > Antiques For Sale by Owner

Below is a video slideshow of a Carl Zeiss Jena 1C PhotoMicrography & Projection Microscope Nr.40303 which dates from approximately 1902-1904. This is a polished brass and a black lacquered enamel over brass model and is still considered one of the finest microscopes ever produced. This model & type of microscope from that era is relatively uncommon.

The microscope comes with its original wood case and slide out wood holders for the various lenses, eye pieces and other components that come with it. The microscope has been used of course and some of the pieces may have become missing over the past 115 years. I am not an expert in scientific microscopes so I will leave it to advanced collectors of this field to view the entire 40 photographs I have made available in the video slideshow noted below and determine if they have interest in what is offered.

The mirror on one side is very good (dust shows on photo) while the opposite side has some clouding around the perimeter. The wood case is very sturdy and has its original key. The door has a crack (see photos in video) which does not affect the strength or opening or closing.

Video Slideshow is directly below and also on our own Video website @ www.itemvideo.com in HD and can be enlarged to full screen. Click on the video thumbnail to play the video. I took 40 photographs of this item to show in great detail what is included. I am not an expert in Antique Microscopes & do not know what may be missing if anything, I will leave that determination to advanced collectors to decide after review of all the photographs.

Extremely Nice 1999 “EVERBRITE–LaCROSSE” Neon Budweiser Sign

See Video Slideshow below with numerous photos. Click full-screen icon to enlarge

This neon sign is an authorized Anheuser-Busch Model N8137 “Budweiser Bowtie” Residential Sign. The date of its manufacture is actually printed on the sign tag as Aug. 05, 1999.

This sign was Made in America (LaCrosse, Wisconsin) by EVERBRITE who has been making neon signs for 80 years for some of the largest companies in the United States. This is not a cheap Chinese knockoff or a Chinese simulated Opti LED Neon light, this is the real sign for a real American beer!

This sign also uses the American made Solid State Evertron Gas Tube Power Supply unit in place of the older Core/Coil Transformers which weighed up to 18 lbs. The Evertron weighs 1-1/2lbs and is the industry’s most reliable power supply made!

The energy used by the Evertron Power Supply is less than a single 75 watt light bulb and the longevity of this sign is 80,000 + hours according to BRITE’S website. Also per BRITES website, the Evertron Power Supply alone costs $75. This sign is an incredible deal for anyone that has a Home Bar or a Sports Rec. Room and is looking for the perfect Bud sign.

I purchased this sign from a Budweiser collector a few years ago who hardly ever had it turned on, in fact the pull string is still tied as it came from the factory.  I have only had it turned on twice for less than an hour total and it has sat on a shelf in a closet with a towel over it to keep dust off for nearly two years…Basically it is an unused-sign but selling as used!

The length & height of the neon signage proper is 20” X 10”, the overall length of the sign because of the bracket etc. is 22”. This sign can be wall hung or easily sit on a shelf with its non-slip feet.

Be sure to view the Video & the Photo Slideshow below. I think anyone viewing this sign will agree it is one of the very best being offered on the market while still being a true vintage sign.
