This is a Poster from a very short-lived, yet incredible Airline founded in 1998 that took on the airline giants and became the 4th largest passenger volume carrier for the Las Vegas McCarran International Airport in the four (4) short years of it's commercial life.
National Airlines was founded in Mid-1998 and before year-end had their marketing and business operations in place to begin offering passenger service early the following year. Unfortunately, the airline ran into financial difficulties after the 911 New York terrorist attack and ridership dropped drastically causing the airline to cease business in 2002.
We purchased this poster at a moving sale in 2002 and I believe we had likely purchased this poster from a National Airlines employee as the papers stuck inside a pamphlet were also airline related. The poster is on heavy gloss paper and is in excellent condition with just a few scrapes as seen below and next to the Lower left National Airlines 757 Boeing Jet.
The poster is an original and it is 22" x 28". The main image is the famous neon cowboy known as 'Vegas Vic' who can still be seen in downtown Las Vegas. Other areas of the poster show how fun and diverse vacationing in Las Vegas was and still is.
As seen, this is a very striking poster and for anyone who loves Vegas, Gambling, Travel, whatever, this is a great rare find, especially since this airline was in business for just a few short years and served only fourteen (14) cities that had high level ridership to Las Vegas where National Airlines had its home base.
